The creation of the E&L Scholarship at the beginning of 2022 is The Altruistic American's way of saying thank you to the folks that helped us when we needed it the most. We created the E&L Scholarship in their name to honor their support and dedication to the fight against the mental health crisis in our communities.
The E&L Scholarship is for Northern Nevada college students that are pursuing a degree in the mental health field, you must be enrolled in at least 1 mental health related course to apply. There is no age/year restrictions, Incoming freshman, working on your PhD or anything in-between you qualify to apply for the E&L Scholarship.
Money is raised for the E&L Scholarship throughout the year at TAA events. The amount of money raised at said events will determine the number of scholarships and the monetary value of the Scholarship(s). A scholarship of no less than $500 will be awarded each year.
Applications are open from 12:01 am January 1st - 11:59 pm October 31st of every year. You can apply here on our website or in person at any of our events throughout the year.
The Scholarship will be awarded annually at The Altruistic American's Gala in December. The awarded E&L Scholarship will be for the spring semester of the coming year and directly paid to the school you are enrolled in.
A winner or winners will be selected and notified by no later than November 30th of each year. The winner or winners will be required to attend our annual Gala for the scholarship presentation ceremony.
Applications must be completed and submitted by no later than October 31st to be considered for that years scholarship award.

The E&L Scholarship is a publicly awarded scholarship. Applicants personal information will not be shared or sold without the prior consent of the applicant. Applicant information is only used for determining the applicants eligibility for the E&L Scholarship and to inform applicants of their nomination if chosen.
